Bullying Prevention
Belonging can change everything.
When children know someone will notice, listen, and stand beside them, they are more likely to feel safe enough to use their voice.

KNOW THE SIGNS
Changes in behavior can be a sign that a child is being bullied. Some children may become quiet, withdraw from activities, or seem anxious about school or social situations.
WHEN A CHILD TELLS YOU

It takes courage for a child to speak up. Your calm, supportive response can make a big difference.
WHAT IS BULLYING?
Bullying is repeated behavior intended to hurt, intimidate, or exclude another person. It can be physical, verbal, social, or online, and it can happen at school, in activities, in the community, or through social media.

VERBAL
Hurtful words, teasing, name-calling

SOCIAL
Excluding
others, spreading rumors

PHYSICAL

ONLINE

WHAT ADULTS CAN DO
Children need adults who notice, listen, take them seriously, and help them find the right support.

NOTICE
Pay attention to changes in behavior.

LISTEN
Create a safe space for them to talk.

BELIEVE
Take what they say seriously.

SUPPORT
Help them reach a teacher, counselor, or other trusted adult.

FOLLOW-UP
Check in and keep showing you care.

BYSTANDERS CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE
You don't have to have the perfect words or solve the problem. Sometimes the most powerful thing you can do is simply not walk past it.
Support can look like including someone, speaking up, or helping them reach a trusted adult.

SCHOOLS & EDUCATORS
A safe and inclusive school environment helps every child feel like they belong.
